New Poetry...

Lying skies

The stars shine down

On me as I look

Out on the world.

Seeing me watching them,

The stars shine a little brighter;

Trying to impress me.

I scowl at the sky.

The stars lurch back in fear.

They are all so phony,

Pretending to

Be

Worthy of my careful inspection.

They could never pass my test,

I would see through their little lies,

They want to extend trade embargoes

And kill innocent civilians.

I throw my anguish

Into the air

Then relaxing, I sit and star

At the stars that tried to

Deceive me so

And I wonder:

Why they really glow.

Blue Kangaroo

Oh Blue Kangaroo,

How I love you!

You took f your shoe,

I paddled a canoe,

It was all for you,

My Blue Kangaroo.

The Mountain

The mountain

rises high before me

and I falter

wondering if I am really

strong enough

tough enough

brave enough

good enough

then I wait

and I think of what

I have already accomplished

and I smile

knowing I will soon reach the top
